WT is trying to scare off memorial partakers
by cookiemaster ini don't know how many of you still participate in the sunday wt study, but i unfortunately still do.
even though i was asleep half of the time, i did notice something i thought i should share with the rest, in case you haven't noticed.
a lot of the paragraphs were worded strongly against partaking and used clear language of intimidation and discouragement toward anyone thinking of partaking.

The Watchtower is afraid that these noveaux anointed will inspire others into partaking until there's a snowball effect with every nutjob and his sister partaking. Pretty soon children will be wanting to much on those crackers. -

A View of China you may not have seen before (grin-especially for guys-well! most guys)
by fulltimestudent inin the city of hefei, in anhui province, china, there is a park planted with 20,000 cherry trees (of 40 different varieties.
(cherry blossoms are culturally significant in east asia and popular).
its not quite blossom time yet, but to get an early start to spring these beautiful girls and some artists introduced another form of cherry blossom displays.

fulltimestudent: "So here's a question for you, why are you scared of China?"
I never said I was afraid of China. In any case, the higher Carbon Dioxide emissions from China and elsewhere spread throughout the Earth. But that's off topic. So tell me, were those Chinese beauties wearing edible paint?

Theists, why does God allow suffering..
by The Quiet One in..specifically, the suffering of animals.
you can talk about free will/sin/people choosing to not listen to god etc to explain human suffering being allowed.. but how can you love a god that allows animals, that haven't sinned or chosen to not have anything to do with god, to have their short lives ended in often long, drawn out, painful ways.
i could list stories i've read that would probably make you feel ill, but i'm not looking to shock anyone or start an emotional debate.

Creative writing query..
by DATA-DOG ini am working on a writing project.
just give me your opinion on this subject.
if you worked for your respective government and you were tasked with doomsday preparations, what would you decide to save for future generations?

DATA-DOG, have you ever watched Dr. Strangelove? It should provide some inspiration. -

I'd be interested to hear what the "former Jehovah's Witness" mentioned at the end of the Fox 23 broadcast has to say. Is there a link to that follow up? -

Not an emoticon issue but I find that the strike application doesn't work for me. When I click on it no strike appears through the selected text. Does anyone else have that problem? I use IE 11 and it doesn't work with Firefox either. -

Leaving Christendom for the Kingdumb Hall
by gone for good inmost of us old timers left behind a stable, respected, religious heritage in our disillusioned haste to join a stupid cult.. as i recall, there was no rite of dissociation required - no reason offered to your church, no resignation required - it was a non-event from the dubs viewpoint.
what was your experience?
were you expected to do or say anything as you abandoned your spiritual heritage to become a drone in the watchtower hive?.

I don't remember being asked to do such a thing but I was told something just as weird.
When I was a teenager, just coming in to the Witnesses, my mother threatened to enroll me at a Catholic school. The person who studied with me said that if I was enrolled in a Catholic school, even if it was against my will, I would no longer be considered a Witness. And I had to obey my mother in any case.

Gifts from my old hall..
by Garrett inhey guys,.
so, it seems the hall i used to attend before my latest one got to hearing that i "disappeared".
so today, i went to the post office to pick up a package.... i decided to try to face reality and open it... what i found were multiple letters and wrapped gifts.

My curiosity would have prompted me to read the letters. What happened is out of the ordinary for Witnesses unless somebody really cared. They may not have been there right after your breaking off relationship with them but it seems that they still cared otherwise they would not have bothered.
